I spent the last week of June with occupational therapy students at a day camp for children with learning differences. Kudos to the incredible therapists and staff that make it happen every year. They volunteer their time all year long to make this one week of magic for children who would not be successful at other summer camps. Because of their dedication, every child succeeds. I could write on and on, but the pictures say it all.
Thanks Elaine for being the first to visit my blog...share the link if you would like....I have had to change the address some, since when a friend googled "justcallmepink" a nasty porn site came up, yuck...so the new address is: pinkitsmorethanjustacolor.blogspot.com
What an awesome experience! The pictures are great! Thanks so much for your prayers and kind words. I am only beginning my 5th year of teaching at the age of 40. So many people drop out of the profession, but I am called. Despite the headaches, I love it and need to stay! Bessings!
I am an illustrious member of the Cast On! Knitting Scouts
I always wanted to be a Girl Scout but never was--so imagine the indescribable thrill when I discovered the KNITTING Scouts.
Wherein it is acknowledged that members are:
Really into badges
Not opposed to alcohol
Mostly in agreement that there is no one right way to knit
I have my first Knitting Scout Badge!
A requirement for all Knitting Scouts, the recipient must do his or her bit to present knitting in a positive light, whilst at the same time avoiding all references to “hipness”, grandmothers, and yoga. (I don't know if I can commit to never mentioning yoga. I might just cross my fingers during this part of the pledge.)
